When everyone is rushing to Bali, you must be curious about what's the hype all about. Spending 7 days in Bali would still leave you with a yearning to spend longer there. But a step-by-step travel guide highlighting the main areas that are a must-visit should be enough to experience a true Bali life. This 7-day perfect and short travel guide to Bali covers all the things that you must do during your vacation, food that you must taste, transportation, and all that can make your trip exciting and hassle-free.

Coastline of Nusa Penida Island in Bali

First things first, booking flights in advance…

You can take a flight to Denpasar, Bali. The direct flights are very few and pricey, instead, you can take a flight with a stop in between. Generally, the layover is either in Singapore or Malaysia, depending on your flight. But would recommend choosing Singapore Airlines at all times for two very obvious reasons: The best airline in terms of service and comfort and the best Airport,  so that you might just as well enjoy your layover.

Before we jump to the itinerary, there are a few things to note here. Bali is a small island, and thus, you can easily travel from one end to the other in just a few hours. You can use Grab for Taxis, Bike Taxi (with 2 people as well), and Food for your transportation, and it's not heavy on the pocket.

Day 1: Denpasar to Seminyak (1N 2D)

The Seminyak or Canguu coastline is the first touchpoint, where you can indulge in the serene beauty of this island. This pristine coastline has beach resorts where you can sip cocktails while enjoying the sunsets, the best places to surf, extraordinary temples, and the cultural side of Bali.

Seminyak is in the north of the Airport and is hardly 50 mins from the airport. You can take a cab to either Canguu or Seminyak, wherever you have your stays planned. I would recommend spending 2 days in Seminyak before moving on to the next place.

Day 3: En route to Ubud (2N 3D)

Leave for Ubud in the morning by cab; it should take 1.5 hours. Ubud is one of my favourite places in Bali, it has just the right vibe. Mouth-watering food, aesthetic cafes with live performances, and boho shopping catalogues set the mood right. No matter how many days you spend in Ubud, you will always feel like staying more. I have suggested 3 three-night stays, but feel free to adjust.

Ubud is the center of Bali and has decent proximity to lush green rice terrains, photogenic Bali swings, breathtaking waterfalls, ATV rides and of course, the inactive volcanoes perfect for the sunrise trek, Mount Batur.

Day 6: Next hop is Nusa Penida (1N 2D)

Next is the land with picturesque views, sunsets, and humungous cliffs. After relaxing in Ubud, leave for Nusa Penida early in the morning from Sanur Harbor to board the ferry. Please ensure that you have booked the ferry beforehand.  Usually, people do a same-day trip to Nusa Penida.

If you want to stay in Nusa Penida, which I heartily recommend,  you have multiple options to onboard the ferry. The best way to enjoy the beauty and calmness of the island is by spending a day atleast here. If you plan to do so, check out the complete list of things to do

Tip: The last ferry leaves at 3:30 PM from Bali to Nusa Pendia and at 5:00 PM from the vice-versa route. Plan accordingly.  Also, Nusa Pendia has a bunch of water sports that close at 4:00 PM. Plan your day well!

Wondering what to choose between Gilli and Nusa Penida?

If you are confused about which one to choose, between Gilli and Nusa Pendia Islands. Here is a simple thing: If you wish to an isolated island where you want to completely be a part of Nature, go for Nusa Pendia. But, if you want to visit a bit of a commercialised version of Nusa Penida, you can opt for the Gili Islands. But trust me, you will not regret choosing either of these. And visiting both beats it all.

Day 6: Ferry from Nusa Penida to Bali, reach Uluwatu (1N 1D)

After spending a perfect time in Nusa Penida, return to Bali, and then to Ulluwatu. Ulluwatu is the last stop to capture Bali’s beauty. The white sand beaches are less crowded and perfect for surfing, with the entire coastline covered with limestone cliffs, adding just more beauty to it.

Day 7: Return flight

And with this comes a sad ending to your beautiful trip. You will be leaving relaxed with tons of memories, experiences of a new culture, and definitely aesthetic pictures. Funnily, also with some home decor ideas because every stay in Bali is just so BEAUTIFUL.
